Award wages went up 4.75% on 1 July. Did your prices?

Xero will put the whole award rise through your payroll in one pass. Nothing puts the matching rise through your invoices.

Tell me what you charge one customer and when you last put it up. I will show you what the award has done since, and what your letter has to say to raise it.

A month behind

On this one customer, every month, until you raise it.

How I got that

Fair Work Commission annual wage review, as published each year. Compounded on your figure, ex GST.

Two things this does not tell you. Whether your agreement lets you raise the price, and how much notice you owe first. Remembering on 1 July is remembering too late if the contract wants 30 days.

This year also carried a structural change to the lowest award classifications, so if your price is pinned to entry-level labour it moved by more than 4.75%. An estimate about one customer you typed in. Nobody owes you it.
